Example:They write letter  for  them  granmother

(-)Negative:s+do/does+NOT+v1+complemen

Example:they don’t write letter  for them grandmother

(?):Do/does+S+v1+complemen

Example:Do they write letter for them granmother

Simle past tense ini digunakan untuk menyatakan kegiatan  yang sudah terjadi di masa lampau.
