DANAU SENTARUM

            Danau Sentarum is a Danau musiman ,located in the heart Borneo Island,Kapuas hulu Regency,west Kalimantan .This  Danau Sentarum full’s a water roundabout 10 month every year.This Danau sentarum have a wode 132.000 hektare.  

            On once 1999,Danau Sentarum costant follow’ as NASIONAL Park,before,name Danau sentarum  is Cagar Alam(1981/1982) and suaka margasatwa(since 1982).

            Danau sentarum nasional park a very beautiful.

Danau sentarum nasional park has a rich fish fauna with around 240 recorded species,including  the asion arowana and clown loach botia,there have been 237 bird species recorded including the strom’s  strok and great argus ,of the 143 mammal species 23 are andemic to Borneo including the proboscis monkey,there is a relatively large population of the endangered orangutans present in the park,the 26 reptile species indude the fulse sharial and estuarine crocodile.

              The lakes support a large tradisional fishing industry,the western park of the uooer Kapuas floodlain is in habited by almost 20.000 people,88%of which are MALAY fishermen,about 3.000 people live in about 20 village encaves within the park.
